Why Consistency Matters More Than Motivation
For most of my life, I thought motivation was the thing I needed to get moving.
If I felt inspired, I showed up. If I didn’t, I waited. I assumed motivation was the fuel behind progress, and when it faded, so did momentum. Imagine thinking motivation was just gonna show up? smh
What I know now is this: motivation is unreliable. Consistency is what actually builds anything meaningful.
Consistency isn’t exciting. It’s not flashy. It can even feel a little boring. But boring works.
Consistency doesn’t mean doing everything. It means doing the right few things, over and over again, even when you don’t feel like it. Especially when you don’t feel like it. Like I said boring but it works!
Earlier in my career, consistency was built into the structure. Sales goals. Weekly check-ins. Clear expectations. When I began building more independently, I realized how easy it is to drift when no one is watching.
That’s where so many women get discouraged. Not because they lack ability, but because they underestimate how powerful simple, repeated actions really are.
Right now, I’m choosing consistency over intensity. I’m focusing my energy on building my community-based wellness business through Heritage Club in a steady, sustainable way that fits my real life. Not all at once. Not perfectly. Just consistently.
Is it glamorous? No.
Is it exciting every single day? Also no.
But does it work? Absolutely.
Some days consistency looks like focused work. Some days it looks like showing up imperfectly. And some days it looks like resting so I can keep going.
Consistency doesn’t require burnout. It requires honesty. Honesty about what you can commit to and the patience to let progress compound.
If you’ve ever felt like you start strong and fade, you’re not broken. You just haven’t been supported by a rhythm that works for you.
Consistency changes everything when it’s built with intention.
