What My Team Taught Me This Year

This year shifted something deep in me, not because of numbers or milestones, but because of the women I get to lead. I stepped into Heritage Club at 54 excited, hopeful, and ready for a new chapter, but like everyone who starts fresh, I wondered if I could really do it again.

Could I build again? Could I lead again? Could I step into a new season and make it meaningful? I had the heart for it, but I also had questions. What I did not expect was how quickly my team would answer those questions for me.

This team reminded me of who I am. They reminded me that leadership is not about perfection. It is about presence. It is about showing up. It is about giving people the tools to rise and the space to grow. The women in Heritage Club taught me more about leadership than any book or training ever could. They taught me the kind of strength that comes from community. They taught me the kind of clarity that comes from alignment. They taught me the kind of joy that comes from watching others win.

I want to share the lessons they gave me, because they shaped me in the most beautiful way this year.

Leadership is a gift, not a spotlight

I learned that the real magic of leadership is watching women step into their power. I watched women make their first post. Share their stories. Try something new. Build belief in themselves. These moments reminded me that leadership is not about being ahead. It is about serving, supporting, and celebrating. Seeing someone rise because you believed in them is one of the greatest gifts of this work.

Community creates more momentum than pressure ever will

This team grew not because anyone was pushed, but because everyone was supported. Women thrive when they feel seen and valued. They thrive when they feel safe to try, safe to learn, and safe to grow at their own pace. When the culture is built on connection and encouragement, people stay longer, show up more, and believe deeper. Community breathes life into everything.

Small wins matter just as much as big ones

This year taught me to celebrate everything. The woman who finally believed she could do this. The woman who learned how to share her story. The woman who joined her first Zoom even though she was nervous. These moments brought me to tears in the best way. Success is not always loud. Sometimes the quiet wins are the ones that change someone’s life.

Gratitude makes leadership lighter

The more gratitude I felt toward my team, the easier leadership became. Gratitude shifted my energy. It brought softness where there used to be pressure. It helped me stay grounded and open. Gratitude made the work feel joyful again. It helped me remember why I love guiding women in the first place.

A supportive team strengthens you too

This team helped me grow. They helped me find my voice again. They helped me step back into leadership with confidence and clarity. They reminded me that we are not meant to build alone. When I looked at them, I saw women who believed in something bigger than a business. They believed in themselves. And that shifted everything for me.

If you are part of my community, please know this. I am proud of you. I am grateful for you. You made this year meaningful in ways you may never fully realize. You helped me return to the core of who I am. You helped me rediscover how I want to lead. And you reminded me that leadership is not about perfection. It is about hearts. It is about people. It is about showing up for each other.
