Why Energy Matters More Than Hustle
For a long time, I believed hustle was the answer. If I wanted something to grow, I pushed harder. I worked longer. I said yes more often. And for a season, that approach worked. It helped me build a successful corporate sales career and later supported different phases of my business life.
But hustle always came with a cost.
What I’ve learned over time is that energy, not effort, is the real currency. You can work incredibly hard, but if your energy is depleted, unfocused, or scattered, the results never feel sustainable. Eventually, something gives.
This season of life has asked me to pay closer attention to how I feel while I’m building, not just what I’m building. I’ve noticed that when my energy is protected, my decisions are clearer. My follow-through is stronger. And I don’t feel the constant pull between doing more and doing what actually matters.
That awareness has changed how I approach everything.
Instead of chasing momentum through hustle, I’m creating it through steadiness. I’m simplifying my days. I’m honoring boundaries. I’m choosing routines that support my energy instead of draining it. And I’m giving myself permission to move at a pace that allows me to stay consistent, not burned out.
As part of that decision, I’ve also been very intentional about where I’m focusing my business energy. I’ve committed to being all in with Heritage Club for the next 90 days, not out of pressure, but out of alignment. I know from experience that when I focus, simplify, and build with the right support, I create results that last. This season isn’t about dabbling or chasing quick wins. It’s about building something steady and meaningful with people I genuinely enjoy doing life with.
That clarity alone has been energizing.
At this stage of life, I no longer believe success has to feel exhausting. I believe it can feel supportive. Grounded. Even calm. Protecting your energy doesn’t mean you’re doing less. It means you’re doing what matters most, in a way that allows you to keep showing up.
Hustle will always be there if you want it. But energy is what sustains you. And learning to lead from that place has changed everything for me.
