Real conversations on ostomy life, body image, faith, and rebuilding the kind of confidence cancer tries to take. 120+ episodes built for the ostomates who need to know they are not alone.
4.8 star rating · over five years of conversations · still the only place to hear them honestly
When I found out I might need an ostomy, I told my doctor not to put me in a bag. So many times that he had to sit me down and remind me that his job was to save my life. He was right. And when I woke up on the other side of that surgery, something shifted in me. God left me here to do some work. I was not going to play small.
I started The Beautiful Bag podcast because I wanted other ostomates to know they were not alone. I wanted to use my real, unfiltered, lived experience voice to create a space where people could feel seen. And it worked. A deeply loyal community formed around those stories. Around honesty. Around the kind of connection that only comes when someone says out loud what everyone else is afraid to say.
That community taught me something I carry into every episode. And it is what this show, now called Beautifully Whole, is still built on. Whatever your story, there is room for it here.
I decided to compete at the 2017 America Fitness Weekend in Las Vegas with my ostomy. The moment I said it out loud, everyone rallied. I was sponsored for training, travel, my suit, everything. When I got there after months of preparation, I almost did not go through with it.
I took a deep breath, walked out on stage, opened my wings, hit my pose, and completely teared up when every single person in that audience stood up. Clapping. Screaming. Some of them were crying.
I had to show everyone what I preached. That beauty, strength, and confidence are not taken away by surgery. They are forged by it.
“That standing ovation was not for me. It was for every person who has ever felt like their body made them less than. It was for all of us.”
Over more than a hundred episodes, four threads come back over and over. Whatever you are walking through, there is a conversation here for it.
Ostomy life honestly. The fears, the freedoms, the practical questions no one wants to ask out loud.
Body image, identity, and learning who you are on the other side of something that changed everything.
How women hold onto their faith through the hardest seasons, and how it carries them into the next one.
Real stories from women who started over after cancer, after loss, after the version of themselves they thought they would always be.

"Such great stories and inspiration for ostomates, family, caregivers, and everyone in between. LeeAnne brings the kind of realness that makes you feel less alone in all of it."

The Beautiful Bag taught me what these conversations can do for the women who need them. One day Beautifully Whole becomes a wider room with the same heart. When that day comes, I will tell you here first. Until then, the catalog is its own gift, and the stories inside it are still doing real work.
All 120 plus episodes of The Beautiful Bag are still here and still available. The show grew into Beautifully Whole but the conversations that started it all are not going anywhere. Everything you heard, every story that stayed with you, is still in the archive waiting for you.
