Surviving Crohn's Disease: A Story of Bravery and Resilience with Guest LaTesha Harrison

In this episode of "The Beautiful Bag" podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with LaTesha Harrison, a Crohn's disease advocate. LaTesha shared her journey with Crohn's disease, including her diagnosis at the age of five and her experience with an ostomy since the age of 14. We also discussed the lack of education and information about Crohn's disease, especially for people of color.

Latesha's story is one of resilience and strength. Despite experiencing excruciating pain and trauma, she has learned to cope and heal. She emphasizes the importance of finding ways to maintain mental stability, such as taking breaks from social media or doing something for yourself. LaTesha recommends finding a listening partner, someone who can understand and support you without judgment.

We also discussed the importance of advocating for oneself in the medical system and the need for better education and understanding of Crohn's disease. LaTesha shares her passion for being an advocate for patients who cannot speak for themselves and her belief that this is her calling.

I was truly inspired by LaTesha's bravery in sharing her story and her dedication to helping others. She is a true advocate for self-advocacy and self-love, urging listeners to be their own best friend and not settle for anything subpar, especially when it comes to their health.

As LaTesha has some exciting things coming up in the near future, I encourage you to follow her on social media for updates. I also urge you to connect with LaTesha and other advocates for support.

Thank you for tuning in to this episode of "The Beautiful Bag" podcast. Remember to take care of yourself and to continue working on your mental health journey.

As LaTesha says, "no one deserves to go through traumatic experiences, but it is important to find ways to cope and heal." Click HERE to listen to Episode
