What style jeans are good when in an ostomy?

Ok I don’t know about you but I find jeans very uncomfortable. I don’t know why, well maybe its because I love living in my workout clothes lol. So what do you wear for jeans that are comfortable and stylish when we are in an ostomy?

For me it’s all about comfort. Hey, I am an 80’s girl so the tighter the jeans the better was the way to go. You know what I mean grabbing that pair of Jordache and then a coat hanger so you could zip them up while lying down. Come on I am not the only one here right? Anyways, now that I have my colostomy that is no longer an option and the rest of my lower half thanks me for it lol.

Here are my favorite go to brands!

Frame - I LOVE Frame jeans now I know they are expensive so I figured I would start with them. The material is SO comfortable and stretchy. They have different styles depending on your preference. I love their high waisted boot cut and flare styles. This cut makes your legs look longer and leaner. So it is my go too. Plus I like the high waist, it keeps my ostomy tucked in nicely. You can buy them on their site, at Nordstroms or other department stores. I have also found a couple of pairs on Poshmark so you can go that route too!

AG Jeans - This brand has been my favorite for the last 6 years. I wear them all the time and all their styles. Again, high rise for me. They are such a comfortable fit and they last forever. I wear my skinny style of theirs all the time!

Madewell - This is a new brand for me. I got a pair of their high waisted boyfriend line and they were so comfy! However, they were a bit big around the waist so I needed to get 1 size smaller. This style looks so cute rolled up with a pair of flats! It’s a great “styled mom” look. That is a look I was going for in one of the most recent photo shoots.

NYCO - I had officially represented Ny and Company for the last 2 years, contract was up the end of 2021. I got a few pairs of their jeans to try and was surprised at how well they fit and how comfortable they were. Especially with the price plus they are always having a sale. They no longer have any stores so you will need to order them online. My favorites where their wide leg and flare high waist styles.

Those 3 brands could not be more different in price but they are all worth it. I always get high waisted because of my ostomy. I personally have tried low rise and well they don’t work for me like they used too. However, I know many ostomates who do where low rise and have their bags on the outside and not tucked in. My opinion is try them all and see what you like best. Just because we are in an ostomy doesn’t mean we can’t still wear jeans.

Let me know what you love to wear!
