Taking care of your skin around your Stoma, your face and the rest of your body.

Are you good with taking care of your skin? I know I haven’t been for most of my life and just last year I made a focus to be better at it. This year I will continue to do so. Skin is our largest organ, I never knew that until I got into the health world 11 years ago. To get ready for competitions we used to have to exfoliate our skin a few weeks before the competition so that our tan should go on smoothly. That was about all I ever did.

Now I have a day and night routine for my face. I have a night routine for my hands and feet. I also have a routine for my body especially around my Stoma so that I do not get irritations. As well as an internal routine daily to make sure my skin is healthy from the inside, which to me is the most important things to start with!

Below is what I do on a daily basis to make sure my skin is smooth, soft, and plump.

  1. Every day I start my day with 22 oz of water before coffee, then finish the rest of the gallon by 6 pm. There are so many benefits to water like: fewer wrinkles, improved circulation, clear acne, smaller pores, reduced puffiness, improves moisture & elasticity to name a few.

  2. Every morning and night I have 1 Tablespoon of my favorite Collagen. There are so many benefits to collagen especially as we age like: joint mobility, healthy cartilage, decreased skin dryness, improves skin hydration, firmness & elasticity, reduces hyaluronidase the enzyme that can make your skin age & reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

  3. My morning and night facial routines are pretty much the same. This is my favorite skincare (double cleanser, serum, and moisturizer I use day and night. The Infusion mask is used weekly!) Also I love the CellProof eye cream. Here are the benefits of each of these: The double cleanser is a makeup remover and cleanser in one. It deep cleans with our stripping or drying out your skin. The serum soothes and conditions skin, hydrates and moisturizes, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and tightening skin. The moisturizer reduces fine lines and wrinkles, smooths skin and hydrates. The infusion mask awakens skin, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, supports natural skin moisture. The Eye cream lifts and firms eye area, improves dark circles and puffiness, hydrates and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I use this toner after I wash my face and before my serum. Also, 3-4 nights a week I use my special formulated Curology product.

  4. The other thing I do nightly for my face is use The NuFace Machine It feels like I a getting a firming facial every night lol. It helps tone, firm, contour and smooth the skin. I really have seen a difference using this for the last 6 months. You have to be consistent with it and use it nightly though.

  5. For my hands and feet I use this cuticle oil and this moisturizer as I climb into bed at night.

  6. As for my body and around my stoma. When I remove my flange for my stoma my skin is really soft I believe it is because of the collagen and the water that I have everyday. However, when I do have an irritation at all I use Hollister’s Stoma powder I have found it really help to heal the skin. I do not use any moisturizer around that area and let the skin “breath” for a little while after I get out of the shower on flange change days. For the rest of my body I will use Cerave.

I hope you find these tips helpful! Let me know which ones you try!
