Yoga, Nutrition, Health tips while in an Ostomy

I had the privilege this week to interview Nina Hayes, she is a nutritionist and yoga teacher who travels between LA, Tulum, Mexico and also does retreats in Bali. Tulum and Bali are definitely on my bucket list, are they on yours?

We discussed a ton, from the fear of yoga in a classroom and making noises with your ostomy which was a personal fear of mine that I had to get over and how to deal with that. We also discussed what Yoga does for the body especially our digestive system and the facia around our bodies. It is so good! So, if you’re not doing yoga you may want to implement it after listening to this weeks podcast.

Nina is also a vegan, a lot of people in ostomies have a hard time with processing vegetables and she had a ton of tips on how to get your vegetables in especially being vegan. She talks about juices and soups and what she does when she travels to other countries and how she keeps everything together. I was super inspired by her. The Yogi side of me gravitated even more towards her and reminded myself the power of yoga, of vegetables, and intuitive eating which is a practice that I did while I had cancer.

And how to get your mind right. The things we can do that will help us overcome the obstacles that we go through whether we are in an ostomy or not.

This is definitely a podcast episode for everyone. You can find it on Apple podcast and Google play. Let me know your thoughts on it, your takeaways, and don’t forget to screenshot it and tag me on Instagram whether in your stories or on your wall because I occasionally do some prizes for people who do that.
