Welcome to 2023

Well it’s the middle of January 2023 and I woke up this morning thinking about how last year I took a break from blogging, social media, and the podcast.

I have been living my life on social media since I started with my online businesses in 2012, then that continued into showing awareness around having an ostomy. I know how important platforms are and I am all for them. However, when you start to stress because you didn’t film the food you ate, the workout you did or the restaurant you were at with your family and friends, it takes away the joy around sharing. So last year I decided to slow it all down, spend more time being present with my family and friends and not worry about social media so much. I mean it was my “job” for a 10 years. I wanted it to become more natural, I wanted to have real in person connections. I wanted to be really truly present in the moments and I will tell you I have really created some wonderful things by doing this. When I have shared out there it has been when I felt like it.

Life is so important and those of us in an ostomy know that we got a second chance at this life. So how do we want to spend it? Even if you don’t have an ostomy, what do you want to spend your life doing?

Every January 1st I set goals for the year. I do three personal, three family and three business. Usually it was about releasing weight, being fit, helping the children, and how much money do my businesses make and how to grow that. Business was always the first thing I focused on.

This year I did things differently it’s all about the places I want to travel to, the time and memories to make with my family and friends, taking care of my health and not worrying about what I “look” like. Maybe it’s an age thing, who knows. But I am here for it. I am here to create the memories with the people I know and love and those of you who I get to know.

I hope you set some great goals for yourself this year. Cheers to it. Now let’s go live it!
