Fifteen years of wellness and beauty product distribution. Twelve years of corporate sales at ADP and PEO before that. Seven years and counting alongside Hollister Incorporated. One life rebuilt around a body that surprised me. This is the story behind all of it.
I started in corporate sales. Twelve years at ADP and Paychex, including the PEO division and private equity placements, where I learned what makes a real partnership work and what makes one fail. The product matters, the trust matters, and the follow-through matters more than either.
From there I moved into wellness and beauty product distribution. Fifteen years and counting. I have built distribution teams of more than twelve thousand women, ranked in the top one hundred representatives globally out of more than five hundred thousand, been named Women of the Year, and was one of the first two hundred representatives selected out of tens of thousands to launch Tyra Banks' cosmetic line. I know what it takes to build a real business in this industry. I also know what it costs when one closes.
For seven years now, I have served as a contracted spokesperson for Hollister Incorporated, one of the largest medical device companies in the world. That role has placed me in regular professional contact with surgeons, nurses, and product engineers. People who hold a higher bar for what gets put on or in the body than the wellness industry typically does. I bring that same standard to every product I represent and every partnership I take on.
I am a leader within Heritage Club, the wellness team I came home to after my last business closed. I speak at corporate town halls and healthcare events. I work with high-end med spas and wellness studios on partnership activations. The work is varied. The standard underneath it is not.
Everything above is what I do now. None of it is what I planned. The path that got me to this work runs through a chapter that took me apart and put me back together. If you have read this far, the rest is mine to tell you.
It is not a small thing, having an ostomy. It reshapes how you see your body, how you move through the world, and who you trust to walk alongside you. There is fear, there is grief, and there is a long period of figuring out who you are on the other side of something that changed everything.
Surgery left me with a permanent ostomy and for a long moment I was not sure who I was anymore. I had built a career in beauty and wellness, worked alongside some of the most incredible women in this industry, and suddenly I was starting over in a body I did not fully recognize yet.
Starting over is not the end of your story. It is often the most powerful chapter.
I named my ostomy Ivan. I got back on stages, built new businesses, launched a podcast, and became a grandmother. And somewhere in all of that, I found a purpose bigger than anything I had chased before. Helping women who feel like their best days are behind them realize they are just getting started.
I started The Beautiful Bag podcast because I wanted other ostomates to know they were not alone. I wanted to use my voice, my real and unfiltered and lived-experience voice, to create a space where people could feel seen, and it worked. A deeply loyal community formed around those stories, around honesty, around the kind of connection that only comes when someone says out loud what everyone else is afraid to say.
That community taught me something important. People do not follow platforms, they follow people, they follow authenticity, they follow someone who has been through it and come out the other side still standing, still hopeful, still willing to show up.
The Beautiful Bag is a permanent home inside everything I build now. The catalog of more than one hundred and twenty episodes lives on. The community that built it is honored every step of the way. The work expanded into something wider, but the foundation is still that same room, with the same door, where the first conversations happened.
Faith first, family second, then everything else, in that order, always.
Everything in my life is built on one foundation, and that foundation is faith. God has been the constant in every season, especially the hard ones. When my body failed me, when companies closed, when the path forward was not clear, my faith did not waver but redirected me. Every door that closed was God moving me toward the right one.
Family is my why. My husband John has been steady through every chapter. Between us we have raised five children and watched them build their own lives, and now we get to be present for the grandchildren too. Everything I build, I build with them in mind, the flexibility and the income and the legacy. None of it matters if it costs me the people I love most.
Where I Am Now
These days, my work runs across a few rooms. Heritage Club, where I am one of the leaders inside a team of women who are ready to build a second income stream alongside whatever they are already doing. Wellness Partnerships, the work I do with high-end med spas and wellness studios who want to add a clean and clinical-grade product line to what they already offer. Speaking, where I show up for rooms that need a real story. The podcast catalog, where the conversations from The Beautiful Bag still live and where the next chapter is still being written carefully.
It is not the career I planned at twenty-five. It is the one I earned. And it is the one I would not trade for the one I thought I wanted.
